Address Tracker

Published under Internet by writer. No Comments .

Though I don’t have a website for any business reasons, I do have one that is just for fun. No matter how fun it is I can still have problems with some of the people who visit. It’s amazing the trouble people can cause online, even when the subject matter is something that you would never think could cause a stir. In any case, I have had problems with a few people leaving nasty messages on my site, and I have had to install an IP address tracker to keep an eye on things.

After I installed the IP address tracker I could see when a certain IP visits my site. It records the IP number of the visitor. It tells me where they live, but not their address, and who their Internet provider is. When someone posts something nasty on the site, I can find out which IP address visited at that moment, and I can then ban that address. So far, the IP address tracker has done very well, and I know not only where people are coming from, but how often they come and what pages they see on the site.

There are things that an IP address tracker cannot tell you, and that is so that you can protect your privacy when you are online. They cannot give you the name, address, or any other personal information on a visitor. That’s fine with me, and I like it that way. No one should be able to find your home address or phone number just because you visited a site with an IP address tracker. I don’t want to know that information, I just want to be able to get rid of the troublemakers who sometimes show up on my site.

Though my IP address tracker is great for keeping people away, it is also neat for other small reasons. The IP address tracker I have tells you what city and country visitors are from, and it also tells me how many times they have visited. It’s very cool to see people from different countries that have been on my site. I can also see if they have come from a certain link somewhere else on the Internet. This tells me where people are posting links to my site, and also tells me where people are finding the site on search engines. Though this isn’t critical information for me, it is important if you have an online business.

Finding People With Technology

Published under Family by writer. No Comments .

I adore technology. It helps me sufficiently each and every day. From my PDA, to my cellular phone, to my wireless notebook that I can no longer survive without. I will assume that you’re probably in the same boat. We all use these electronic wonders on a daily basis just to get by anymore. They make life simple and convenient. So much of our time is saved for more important things such as family. Speaking of family, a member of mine sort of fell off the globe several years ago. It’s an aunt that I haven’t spoken with in some time. I often wonder where she roamed to and what she’s doing now days, and so does the rest of my family. Then it hit me. I can search for her with ease. All I need to search people on the Internet is a name or social security number. Well, I may not have the social security number, but I certainly have her full name. And so I began my search.

After sorting through several similar names on the web, I eventually found my aunt using a modern-day people-finder search engine. It took hardly any effort on my part. I was able to acquire her current address in Colorado. Wow, none of us ever thought she would be living out there. After attaining her phone number as well, we called her and reconnected. It seemed that since so much time had passed, she simply decided against contacting her family. Weird, I know. Now, my point is you can search people on the net whenever you please. All it takes is a PC or Mac with Internet access. Pull up a search engine and pay a small fee. Actually you may be able to do a quick free search in order to pinpoint that current address. Some of these websites allow you to test the service. That may be all you need. Go ahead and search people you haven’t seen nor heard from in years. Maybe it’s a relative or someone from your old high school. Get in touch with them and catch up on old times.

Again computers have come through for us all. Just when I think they can’t get any better or more advanced, they offer engines that allow us to search people online, and discover their current whereabouts. This sort of technology would have been baffling 50 years ago. Thank God for innovations and upgrades.

Home Security Systems

Published under Home by writer. No Comments .

It’s imperative to consider the issue of safety. This regards your vehicle, home and everyday actions. You don’t need to dwell on it, but it should be lingering somewhere in your mind. The world can be a very dangerous and unpredictable place. Studies have shown that it pays to be prepared. Take a home security or DIY burglar alarm system for example. These are good and prudent investments. Don’t just think about it in regards to when you’re occupying the house, but also when you’re not around. You surely want to make certain your home is secure and safe from criminals when you’re off at work and the kids are at school. Sometimes the key is to deter more than it is to build a iron fortress with a moat and draw bridge.

When you’re a child you probably don’t consider home security systems, surveillance cameras, and DIY burglar alarms. Why would you? This is your parents’ job. Then when you grow up, acquire your own things and start your own family, things change. Suddenly you’re that’s depended on. It’s your responsibility to keep the family safe and secure from all harm. It literally becomes your most important job. Ask any parent. Where I come from, most of the responsibility lies on the father. This is why I strive to do my best. Okay, now let’s take a look at issues concerning theft and criminal attacks. A DIY burglar alarm or modern day surveillance system can help prevent property crimes. Why? Because they keep you privy to what’s going down. A contemporary DIY burglar alarm or ADT system will not only sound when someone attempts to penetrate the home, but they will also notify authorities. This helps keep you safe and deters the criminal from proceeding. If there’s one thing I know about criminals, it’s that they hate any attention drawn to what they’re doing.

In all truth, you don’t have to invest in a high-end ADT alarm system or DIY burglar alarm in order to stay safe. I understand that some folks prefer a more economical route. Try quality locks and heavy bolts on each entrance to your home. Furthermore, you can pick up window alarms at a very low cost. These suckers are loud! Don’t overlook surveillance cameras, because some come as cheap as 100 bucks for a set of three. Now that’s economical safety precautions.

Pest Control – Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Published under Home by writer. No Comments .

When the summer comes, many people are starting to think about the most common summer nuisance, pests that come into your home and your garden, then rampantly multiply until you are overrun with the little nasties.

However just because you see one fly in the parlor does not mean you now have a fly infestation, if you see a few dozen ants going across your kitchen floor it may be time to call in the professional pest control specialist.

The biggest problem with pests has to do with the huge numbers of them that could cause infestation. When you find that a few bugs have become whole clans of bug families or one wild flower growing in your beautiful garden suddenly now a massive weed infestation.

You won’t need a pest control specialist to tell you that there is a problem, you will know. It is either time to learn the concept of DIY pest control or garden pest control, or hire someone who is qualified for the task required.

Some people find that finding one bug means that this is not a problem, it is only one, however bugs tend to migrate and then hide. If you have one there will be literally thousands in no time at all.

If you see one cockroach in your kitchen, you should take the time to rid yourself of this pest quickly before it gets out of hand, it’s a bit like the rice on the chess board one becomes two becomes four only with egg laying pests it a whole lot worse.

The same applies to your garden so if you see just one weed in your garden, get rid of it before it spreads and ruins your garden. Whatever pest control plans you may have you will need pest control products should start with prevention.

When you find that you can’t take care of the problem on your own, it is very important to look for a pest control specialist.

Exterminators can be found online and in the yellow pages, you may find the big companies and the small family companies. Exterminators have extensive legal requirements they must comply to, so you don’t have to worry about poisons and problems with them.

That said if you prefer an organic solution, you’ll need to make this clear when you phone or book, exterminators are always happy to give pest control advice where needed.

You will also want them to have some kind of insurance to cover you should they make a mistake.

When you take your problem to a pest control specialist, even if you are embarrassed, you should talk candidly about the problem, when and where you first saw it and how long has it been a problem.

If it is a household pest control problem, there are many home problem solvers located in your area. If you have a garden, you may have to go to a gardening specialty program that offers you pest control services, some of these programs also come with tutoring on how to maintain a pest free yard.

If you are experiencing this problem, find out what you can do first, and then call in the professionals but if the infestation is bad just don’t wait to long. And remember that prevention is the best way to save you money and to keep pest problems under control.

Practical Parenting Info: Grading In Homeschooling

Published under Family by writer. No Comments .

Grading in homeschooling is done by the teacher-in-charge. In most of the cases, this means mom! In this situation, grading can get a bit tricky because it can be a little difficult to grade your own child. There is no benchmark against which you can evaluate your child’s performance. In most cases, you also have no awareness of
how well other kids are doing. So, obviously the traditional method of grading is perhaps not the best method to follow.

When grading a child undergoing homeschooling, it is more important to assess whether the child has understood the subject that is being taught. Inherent in this is the fact that if the child has not understood something, you will go over it again.
This will work in your child’s favor in 2 ways. Firstly, the child knows that if he or she fails to catch on, the topic will be repeated till it is mastered. Secondly, the child also knows that once the topic has been mastered, he or she will get full credit for his hard work. Getting full reward for the hard work put in is a great motivational factor, especially for kids.

When assessing your child’s abilities, do not allow emotions to overcrowd your rationale. Do not yield to the cries and tears of your child if he or she resists certain topics or subjects. If mastering these skills is necessary, then you as the teacher (and not as the parent alone) have to go over the topic over and over till it sinks in. When dealing with tougher concepts, the child may get restless and may even show frustration or belligerence. When the child is still young and unable to understand the importance of his lessons, it is your responsibility to see to it that the child develops the skill set necessary for future growth.

If you live in a State that requires yearly tests, this will help you to judge your child’s ability vis-à-vis his peers. Even if it is not mandatory, you may want to test your child every year. These tests will reveal the variations in the child’s learning pattern. It may show up unexpected areas of strength and hitherto unknown areas of weakness. This enables you to structure your teaching to cover the areas that are weak, and build upon the areas that are strong.

If your State requires a homeschool report card, keep a record of the yearly development and scores of your child. Include pertinent areas like punctuality, discipline etc in the report. You may also need to keep a record of the number of working days and attendance schedules.

While grading your child, make sure that you use as many externaltests as possible. There are several websites that deal with the various age groups, and allow free downloading of question papers. This is an excellent and cost-effective method to assess your child.

Homeschooling, if done in the proper manner, will boost the child’s confidence because he will be studying to satisfy his natural curiosity. The scores therefore will reflect his true intelligence.

Why not have some fun with your child? You both could learn to face paint. Your new skills will be particularly useful at Halloween and other celebrations such as themed birthday parties. Discover more

Alternative Energy Sources, the Solution to Global Warming?

by Anthony, of Solar Power | Solar Energy

Whereas there are some who still state that global warming is a myth, others who state the planet is actually getting colder, and still others assert that global warming is part of a natural cycle and has nothing to do with carbon emissions. While everyone is entitled to their own point of view, it would be nice to have some straight facts that we can all agree upon.

While some people can’t agree on the fact that carbon emissions cause global warming, they can probably at least agree on the fact that carbon emissions are a pollutant, and that they damage the environment. This is a fact that no scientist, on either side of the Global Warming theory, disputes.

It is also true that most carbon emissions are energy related; energy in the form of fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas. These fossil fuels are either used to generate heat or to create electricity for our homes and workplaces; or to power vehicles, airplanes and boats.

So, in order to address carbon emissions we would need to rethink the way we get our energy. Factually, there has been a definite trend towards alternative clean energy. There are many different options actively being researched and developed. Some of the clean energy technologies we are most familiar with include hydroelectric, wind and solar energy.

Hydroelectric power plants have been in use for decades and are a clean sustainable energy source. The only drawback at times is the impact on the environment in the form of diverting the flow of rivers and creating artificial lakes when building the needed dams in order to harness the power of water. This is however far less damaging than carbon emissions and thus a far better solution.

Wind generated electricity has also been in use for decades and is another viable form of clean sustainable energy.

Solar energy has also been in use for quite some time now, but up until recently was only used in specialized cases due to the cost involved in manufacturing solar panels. However with recent developments and breakthroughs in the production of cheaper and more effective solar panels, the solar energy field is rapidly gaining ground.

The only real problems with these clean sustainable energy sources is that they are still only applied on a relatively small scale, and they have been considered have been considered “expensive” sources of energy.

But solar, wind and hydroelectric energy are actually cheaper than fossil fuels. It is only the initial cost of establishing them that is more “expensive”. In the long run, they do recover their initial costs. Once these alternative energy systems have been established, they require very little maintenance and do not require “fuel” in order to operate and generate power.

There is, however, a hidden cost of fossil fuels, which is overlooked. This is the cost incurred in terms of damage done to the environment and to the health of the population who live in heavily polluted areas. This cost is never added up or calculated into the “fuel bill”. However if the cost of the byproducts from burning fossil fuels were to be added up and included on your energy bill, one would be presented with an entirely different picture. One would see that fossil fuels are factually for more costly and expensive than clean sustainable forms of energy (in the form of hydroelectric, wind or solar power).

Luckily, our awareness of these subjects has risen, and more and more people are starting to invest in clean energy sources at the consumer level.

People are starting to use solar heating for their homes, and some even invest in “expensive” electrical solar panels in order to power their homes.

There is also an ever-increasing range of solar powered gadgets available on the market, such as Portable Solar Battery Chargers, solar emergency kits, solar radios and a host of other electrical devices powered by solar energy.

Winning Community Tips: 4th Of July Fun

Published under Family by writer. No Comments .

If you’re hosting a 4th of July party, there are hours and hours to fill before the highlight events of the day begin - the fireworks. You’ll want to have plenty of activities and games planned to keep everyone busy and entertained.

There are a variety of games you can plan that have a patriotic theme.

Balloon Pass - This game involves relaying a balloon down a line of people. Use balloons that are red, white and blue and tell the participants they will be using their hands and their legs to pass the balloon down the line. Create two teams of people, and line them up in straight lines. Give the first person a balloon and tell them to put it between their legs, passing the balloon to the next person in line with their legs only. That person will take the balloon and pass it to the next person by putting it over their head. That third person will put the balloon between their legs and pass to the next person like that. The game continues until the balloon has passed all the way down the line. If you have a small group, require that the balloon get passed down the line and back again before declaring a winner.

Chalk it Up - Pick a panel of judges (the oldest members of the family are the obvious picks) and have them become the official judges for a chalk contest. Break your guests into two teams (or more, depending on how many people are at the party) and give them each one or two containers of sidewalk chalk. Tell them to create a sidewalk picture that shows something patriotic, and tell them the flag must be included in the picture. Give them a time limit (depending on your group, this time limit might range from 10 minutes to 45 minutes) and then have the judges declare a winner after they have carefully examined all the artwork. You could have art-themed prizes for the winners.

Parade - One fun 4th of July activity that just screams “4th of July!” is a parade with decorated bikes, scooters and the like. Ask everyone who comes to the party to decorate their bike or scooter or other item in patriotic garb. You can have people bring them to the party already decorated and have a contest for “best bike”, etc., but also fun is to have a decorating party within the party. Have all the items on hand to decorate the bikes and scooters and skateboards. You might have streamers, banners, flags, and ribbons. The children and adults can decorate their bikes and scooters as a party activity.

Guessing Game - These games are always popular for just about any occasion. Fill a large jar with peppermint candy (the red and white striped kind) and decorate it with blue and red ribbon. Have people guess how many candies are in the jar (which of course means you count as you place the candies in the jar). The winner, or the person who comes closest to the number without going over, gets the jar of candy.

Why not add even more fun to you celebrations – learn to face paint. It’s not as difficult as you might think. Learn more

Only Due To Lowest Business Insurance Quote , One Should Not Choose Any Scheme

Published under Automobile by writer. No Comments .

Many companies are now providing yacht insurance cover; confusion is often a result as owners try to find the best provider for their needs. Although some aspects of cover remain the same, most insurance providers want unique attributes; individual providers may have a more or less comprehensive plans. In light of the possible confusion, some aspects to consider are mentioned in this article. You should try and get in touch with several insurance companies and get insurance quotes. Once you have a basic understanding of the type of insurance policies on offer, it will help you in understanding auto insurance quotes, in a better manner.

Find out how long the company has been trading and if their financial status is secure; the security provided by your yacht insurance will be at risk if the company is not secure. Many marine insurance companies are listed on the internet so information on them is not difficult to find; ideally you want one that has a good strong, solid customer base as this is where it derives its income and stability. Having home owners insurance quote will prevent a physical disaster from becoming a financial one as well. property insurance quote is a package policy that covers damage to your property and also liability or legal responsibility for any injuries or damages.

May be it will not happen that when you need to claim on your policy; a slow response from customer services can be indicative of other problems and a lack of interest in their clients. Preferably choose a marine insurer that is not purely Internet based and has a large number of offices; customers are more likely to receive a good service especially when they have made special arrangements with local service and emergency firms.

Find out from customers just what they think of their provider; this fact will give a potential customer an idea how well they will be covered should the need arise. There are usually a number of coverage options available with any type of policy; look for an insurance provider that can supply the options you require as this will save you having to make separate arrangements. Since Florida insurance quote can provide you with protection should anything happen to your investment. So like property insurance quote , yacht insurance is necessary.

Always look for a yacht insurance policy that can provide a superior service level at a reasonable cost; do not commit to a company just because they present the lowest quotation. There are more intricacies involved with marine policies than other types of cover; making a decision on the best policy will not be easy. These are the most important points to keep in mind when you search for any yacht insurance provider.

You should first prepare a list regarding to your requirement of a cover; spend time researching the companies and then you can break them down into a smaller list. This guidance should help with your final choice of provider; hopefully bringing a peace of mind about the reliability of the marine insurance company chosen.
