If you don’t have a sleeper sofa, you must either have a lot of extra room in your house or you don’t have a lot of guests. I have to admit though, most of the time I would rather sleep on the floor than to sleep on a lot of the different kinds of fold out couches you can buy. I’m not sure I have ever slept on one that has been very comfortable, and if I know I am going somewhere to sleep, I will take a blow up mattress in my car, just in case.
There has to be a decent sleeper sofa out there, but I have not ever seen one. I have one myself because we have a small place and we enjoy having company over now and again. They never complain about my sleeper sofa, but I always apologize to them as I pull it out. They always say the same thing to me too, no matter who it is. They always laugh and say they don’t expect it to be a hotel bed, but they are pleased to have it all the same.
Probably the worst part about a sleeper sofa is the bar that always runs though the middle of it. I guess it must be a design flaw that cannot be fixed because every single one of them that I have ever owned or slept on has had that horrid bar running down the middle of it. The other part of a sleeper sofa that sucks is how hard it seems to be to change the bedding. I usually leave something on it and then change it just before someone sleeps on it, and I always manage to cut my hand on a spring no matter how hard I try to be careful.
Despite all of the problems, the sleeper sofa is a good idea in theory. What could be better than a couch that can fold out so your guests have somewhere to sleep when they come to see you? Perhaps I just have to go out and buy an expensive one. I don’t know for sure. I do know that until I have a larger home so I can have a guest room for those who come to see me, I will always want to have a sleeper sofa in my home. If I can find a good one, perhaps Ill just put that in a guest room and kill two birds with one stone.
