However this definition may also apply to cancer or other dreadful disorders. Alcoholism cannot be defined simply as a disorder caused by prolonged consumption of alcohol. The amount and routine of drinking will ascertain alcoholism.

A more precise definition of alcoholism implies a chronic disorder labeled by some loss of control over drinking. Drinking more habitually and at inappropriate times will point towards alcoholism. Alcoholism is a generalized term for two unmistakable disorders. They are alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence.

The medical definition of alcoholism reports alcoholism as a sickness caused by ongoing consumption of alcohol. The amount and routine of alcohol consumption required to produce alcoholism will vary from person to person.

Alcoholism is furthermore qualified by some other depictions. They include use, misuse, heavy use, abuse and dependence. 3. He will forfeit control over drinking.
4. He may expend more time in drinking and will regain from it only after more extended periods of time.
5. He will lose taste of social and recreational outings.
6. He will persist in drinking though he is aware of the adverse effects of drinking.

Alcoholism will lead most of the alcoholics to multiply their drinking. Loss of restraint will happen at this stage. In effect loss of restraint is a clear symptom of alcoholism. As the drinker goes on drinking, his body will incorporate increased tolerance towards alcohol. Then the drinker will not get fully satisfied by consuming the normal amount of alcohol. He will necessitate more and more. Withdrawal symptoms comparable to nausea, sweating and shaking will also begin.
