Effective Sinus Congestion Symptoms & Treatment

Published under Health by writer. No Comments .

If you find yourself suffering frequently from severe headache, it may just not be a normal kind of headache. This could be a symptom of sinus infection. So, if you are facing any such problems, it is time to consult the doctor. Let’s see what causes sinus infection and how?

According to the study at Mayo clinic, it has been found that the prime reason for its cause was fungus that too about 95% or even more which includes- mold, athletes’ foot, yeast, jock itch and others.

The sinus region is found to be very dark and moist which makes it a perfectly suitable condition for fungal growth. Also, you carry it within you every time. The only difference between people suffering from a sinus infection to those not suffering is that the healthy person consists of a fungal free passage in the sinus.

Need to Know Treatment Option for Sinus Infection

If you look for a doctor for the treatment, he/she shall advice you with some antibiotics that you need to take regularly. But the thing is, the drugs you take are for the symptoms of sinus infection like headache instead of having a cure for the cause the fungus.

In a way, these antibiotics are making the situation even worse because they are not curing the cause but they are killing the defense bacteria which would rather have helped your body to combat against the bad bacteria. As a result, even after taking the antibiotics, you don’t remain satisfied and find the sinus infection with its symptoms coming all over again.

In spite of the medication that you take, it still persists. Hence, it is better to find some natural way that can keep your body healthy, so that the defense bacteria shall beat up the disease causing agents and keep you fit. But, don’t just stop the treatment as and when you start feeling good. Moreover, the natural treatment would not give any side-effects, so it is advisable to carry it on for a longer time to have best results.

Now let’s recap what we have learnt so far,

* The prime cause of sinus infection is fungus.

* By taking antibiotics, you are worsening the condition as it is killing the bacteria not the fungus, which is the main cause. Moreover, some effective bacteria which help in providing immunity to the body also are killed in the process.

* Try some natural methods that can cure you and make your system immune and strong to fight with the disease causing agents.

So, if you find yourself or anyone in your family suffering from constant sinus infection, you know exactly what is to be done. Learn more about sinus infection herbs and sinus infection symptoms issues.

Windscreen Wipers A Potted History

Published under Automobile by writer. No Comments .

Car Wiper Blades as we know them today were invented in their primitive form, and patented in 1903 by Mary Anderson, of Birmingham, Alabama, USA. The mechanism was powered by hand, with a handle being fitted inside the car which the car owner used to power the wiper arm to and fro in order to maintain visibility.

In the early 1920’s, the majority of cars were equipped with vacuum powered Wiper Blades. This mechanism was the most popular until the 1950’s, and remained on some cars until into the nineteen-sixties.

The problem with the vacuum system was that it was powered by the vacuum created in the inlet manifold of the cars petrol engine. The vacuum was at its strongest, and therefore the Wiper Blades wiped most efficiently when the vehicle was on over-run, that is to say that the engine was being used to slow the vehicle down, as when descending a hill. In these conditions the Wiper Blades would move at incredibly high speeds. Conversely, when climbing a hill or speeding up, no vacuum is produced in the intake manifold, and so the Wiper Blades would slow down or even grind to a halt completely.

Eventually, vacuum powered Wiper Blades were in their turn superseded by electric powered systems, and by the mid nineteen-sixties, this was the only system to be fitted to West European and US manufactured vehicles.
Electric powered Wiper Blades remain with us to this day, and over time modifications such as intermittent wipe, headlight Wiper Blades and rain sensitive systems have been added to the basic electric powered system.

The original Rain Sensing system was launched in the early 1970’s by Citroen of France on its Maserati engined and technically advanced SM model. This was a quite basic system by today’s standards. The Wiper Blades were not activated by the rain, and had to be switched on by the driver. Once switched on, the system sensed how much electricity the wiper motor drew on each wipe. The drier the windscreen, the more resistance there would be, consequently the wiper motor would draw more electricity, on sensing this, the system would lengthen the delay before the next wipe.

Current Rain Sensing Systems are much more refined and can actually turn the Wiper Blades on and off as well as vary the delay between wipes.

In recent years, developments to Wiper Blades technology has come in the form of Silicone Wiper Blades which have a much longer life & improved resistance to pollution, U.V. Ozone as well as extremes of temperature, and, in the last four or five years, we’ve seen rising use of Flat wiper blades which replace the classic wiper blade frame with a single piece spring steel holder for the rubber or silicone blade. This hugely improves aerodynamic performance, resistance to corrosion & ability to follow the windscreen’s contours.

Ageism Rights Hat About Kids Rights

Published under Family by writer. No Comments .

Teachers are taking things too far. First administers see their selves as parents now they see their selves as god figures. When does life ever become more than what it should be? Rules, policies, and PROSPECTIVES that THEY, enforce amongst US, ONLY! Perhaps the freest country most would say, yet our human rights are totally scarce. Many people back in the day would say there was more freedom. But now as it is, does it frighten you of future freedom?

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution allows you the freedom to speak, write, and meet freely with others, also the right to freely express yourself. But there are some limits of expression. 1) Your not allowed to block the entrance of a building to protest. 2) For your own safety you shouldn’t use obscene or “vulgar” language that might be offensive to others. So where does wearing anything on your head come into play as a “no-no”? Thee entire background of taking your head gear off came from back-in-the-day, where as being a ‘gentlemen’, you‘d take off any head gear to show loyalty, almost sounds graceful, now in days that grace is mandatory..so are you setting standards that interfere with my will? What is gentlemen? Who are you to judge, shape, or filter me, and then threaten me to obey what YOU desire me to do? That action alone should get you into a lot of trouble…Wait..Is it that we’re teens? Obviously, threw first hand experience, if an adult wore all of the same color or came into a building with any kind of hat on there wouldn’t be an issue. In our society today I believe there’s just too many people criticizing what you should and should not be doing especially at a young age. It doesn’t even matter of what degree of why it’s tolerated, most of the grief is based upon what the ‘controller’ wants you to ‘to do’. Well, in the low sense of a controller, my buttons are tired and worn out and it’s time for change. You take it how you wanna’ take it but no one should be able to tell me what to do. God said be fruitful, that’s my intention and you can’t manipulate it.

Now, the ‘bandana’ issue. Excuse my slang, bandana is slang, the tern gaining popularity from Outlaw/Hip-Hop/African American culture…oh now we’re serious..Anyway, the proper term for bandana is scarf, not flag, durag, etc, thank you for allowing me to address that because many people are deceived by what something is referred to, just as though many people are deceived by the cover of a book.

To mention, I witness plenty of women wearing things men aren’t allowed to wear, including scarves. Then ironically they say you can wear a headband that is mysterious that a large margin of females wear bands of this description? As Though a bit a slack is being offered to the opposite sex. During a ordinary school day I witness this and teachers don’t say anything..it‘s either they don‘t notice, which is negligence, or they act like they don‘t notice because they’re scared-you know what I mean, or they‘re totally cool with..they wear thee exact things that I could be wearing; caps, scarves, hats, etc…It angers me, and it offends me. I Believe it is an act of sexism, I’ve been going threw this for a large margin of my life and things must change.

I Have first period Physical Science with Mrs. Houdek in room 207, Central High School Saint Paul, MN. Recently I walked into class with a scarf on. Before I sat down I noticed a female was also wearing a scarf which exceeded the wack standard of 2in’.. Spontaneously, I was asked to approach Mrs. Houdek’s desk, she asked, “Do you know why I asked you to come over here for?” grinning…I Said, “Yes” and pointed at my scarf like ‘who didn’t know’. She said, “Yes, so take it off.” We then went into an entire confrontation of my rights. Some students wanted to back me up, they thought my points were meaningful. I Said, “What about her?” The teacher says, “Well that’s the ‘look’, maybe she doesn’t have ‘her’ ‘hair’ ‘done’ .” ..Soooo-is it about affection? ..Do you not show the same to the opposite sex? Do I not have hair? Do I not have a ‘look’? Does being a gentlewomen exist? And about these standards of HUMANITY, what the hell kind of culture do YOU think I’m apart of ???

She then gave me what I believed was phony talk saying, “Well you should talk to the office about it” as though she supported the cause. Sadly, all I felt was that she just wanted me out her room…

The next day during first period I was in the office having continuous conversations without true clarification about this issue, just a simple waste of my presents. The girl that wore her scarf the day before came into advisory still wearing it. I Asked, “Did you wear that all day without anyone saying anything to you?” She said, “Yeah”, smiling. “Did Ms. Houdek have a problem with it?”, I said. “No”, she said, now laughing. So here I am abiding by their ironic policy, yet where do I go wrong? At birth, if I’m not mistaken. If I am, please explain what you haven’t already explained. The answer is not what you want me to be which is a gentlemen. How would you feel if I were to say, “coming to work without those high heels would be you less trampy of you, be a gentlewomen, I advise you to take them off, NOW, for YOUR own safety, ever hear of sexual harassment? Somewhere in America, a woman is raped every 2 minutes, according to the U.S. Department Of Justice. 60% of women are harassed on a daily basis. Oh yes, and heels may be very distractive, in many ways, anything could be as long as you allow it to be, such as hair, make up, clothing, natural appearance, jewelry, CULTURE..etc… Yet it seems like the adults in todays world are the up most bitchiest, snootiest, immature, pet peeved bastards…

This isn’t the only problem many of us endure on a daily basis..So this isn’t all you shall hear from me, Mr. Jerral Le’Ron Carlsen. For this issue specifically it’s either all or nothing…You know..for the large majority of women that come to school with a scarf on, you have to understand that it is apart of them, which you already may, but be sure to do the same for us all. Show liberty..show respect…Again, it’s either all or nothing, strictly, and theoretically..If someone were to have a bad hair day of what ever degree of how bad it was to THEM, that would cause the notion of no one deciding weather or not I can wear it, because that’s how it should be, with anything, even hats, no one shouldn’t even have to excuse it with the ‘bad hair day’ statement, it should be entirely up to that person. Weather it’s a cancer victim, or a barber victim, you can’t differ from which is more personal or acceptable. EVERYTHING IS LIFE DOESN’T HAVE TO HAVE REASONING, SO TO MENTION, STOP INVESTIGATING THE UNIVERSE!…But think if the policy were to be strictly forbidden, think of the increase of complaints..think of how much of a distraction it would be if people of the norm were to disobey the ‘rule’.Think of the chaos. The embarrassment and HUMILIATION you’d have to ANTICIPATE before the teacher finally tells you to take it off.

Let us be..let us live…let us be…

Helpful Tips - Not For Love Or Money, Muscle Cars Rule

A Little Background

The year was 1963. Pontiac had just released its Pontiac Tempest GTO for the 1964 model year and was looking for a way to promote it. Car and Driver was a small automotive enthusiast magazine looking for a interesting article to increase their sales. They approached Pontiac with an idea: pit their new Pontiac Tempest GTO vs. a Ferrari GTO. Jim Wagners, head of Pontiac marketing, jumped at the chance and sent the magazine two “prepared” GTO’s. Meanwhile, the magazine couldn’t locate any Ferrari GTOs to test, so they just tested the Pontiac’s and compared them to fictional Ferrari GTOs. After extensive testing, Car and Driver declared that “Ferrari never built enough GTOs to earn the name anyway — just to be on the safe side though, Pontiac built a faster one.” The “official” test times were unbelievable: 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds @ 115 mph. These results made the Pontiac Tempest GTO a sensation overnight and made Car and Driver the “every man’s” magazine.

The Truth

Although the article pointed out that the GTOs that were tested were only “mildly” prepped by Royal Pontiac, no other magazine or customer could match those test numbers with stock GTOs. Both Pontiac and Car and Driver insisted that the numbers were accurate. It wasn’t until 30 years later that the truth came out: the numbers were not as accurate as they should have been. First of all, Car and Driver, in its infancy, was testing with stop watches. There was plenty of room for human error, and looking back, you can see that human error certainly did exist in these testing procedures. But the main reason for the unbelieveable times was that both GTOs test were ringers. Jack “Doc” Watson of Hurst Performance fame, made this statement in a 1994 interview in MuscleCars magazine regarding the GTO that was actually featured in the pages of Car and Driver: “That car had a 421 in it, not a 389, and if anyone tells you different, they are full of hot air!” But it was Jim Wagners, five years later in his book “Glory Days,” that finally confessed that the test cars were indeed specially prepped by Royal Pontiac and included 421 engines. Jim Wagners noted that “yes, I did install a 421 H.O. Tri-Power engine in the red Royal Bobcat Car and Driver test car.”

The Original Article

Here is the original article in its entirety. You make the call as to how much Pontiac and Car and Driver stretched the truth.

Ferrari never built enough GTOs to earn the name anyway–just to be on the safe side though, Pontiac built a faster one.

Most knowledgeable enthusiasts reacted negatively when Pontiac announced that their new Tempest sports model was to be called the GTO. They felt, as we did, that Pontiac was swiping a name to which it had no right. Like Le Mans, Grand Prix, Monza, Spyder and 2+2, this was another of those hard-to-digest bits of puffery from the Detroit/Madison Avenue axis. Our first look at the car made us feel a little better, because it is handsome, and then we got a call from correspondent Roger Proulx, raving about the car’s acceleration and handling, so we arranged to test a Pontiac Tempest GTO.

This was the most exhaustive and thorough road test we have ever done. We used two nearly-identical cars, the differences being that one car had the shorter-ratio manual steering while the other had power; the manual steering car was also equipped with metallic brake linings. We drove our two cars unmercifully. One was driven from Detroit to New York City, used for ten days by every member of the staff, and then driven from New York to Daytona Beach, Florida, carrying the managing editor, his wife, and three active children. This car–the manual steering, metallic brake version-was driven over 3000 miles. The other car was driven about 500. We ran dozens of acceleration tests on the two cars, plus many, many laps of the Daytona International Raceway’s tri-oval and road circuit.

It was our original intention to borrow a Ferrari GTO and to run the two against each other at Bridgehampton’s road racing circuit and on the drag strip at Westhampton. We had engaged Walt Hansgen to drive the Pontiac and Bob Grossman to run his own Ferrari. Unfortunately Grossman’s Ferrari was tired from a season of racing, and was not considered fast enough to really be a match for our Tempest. We then canvassed all the GTO owners in this country and simply could not get one of those lucky gentlemen and the weather to cooperate simultaneously. As a result, we drove two Ferrari GTO’s, but we were never able actually to run the Tempest against either one of them.

Although it would have been great fun and quite interesting to run the Ferrari racing car against Pontiac’s similarly-named touring car, our tests showed that there really was no effective basis for comparison–the Pontiac will beat the Ferrari in a drag race, and the Ferrari will go around any American road circuit faster than the stock Tempest GTO. We are positive, however, that a Tempest like ours, with the addition of NASCAR road racing suspension, will take the measure of any Ferrari other than prototype racing cars or the recently announced 250-LM. We should also point out that our test car, with stock suspension, metallic brakes and as-tested 348 bhp engine will lap any U.S. road course faster than any Ferrari street machine, including the 400 superamerica. Not bad for an actual delivered price of 3400 dollars, wot?

It was a shade over ten years ago that events in Detroit took a turn for the better and started the trend that ultimately resulted in the Tempest GTO. At that time, GM announced the Corvette. It was a funny car, hooted and jeered at by enthusiasts and by-passed by the great unwashed in favor of its more understandable competitor, the two-seater Thunderbird.

From those humble beginnings (with the late-fifties prompting of a robust and growing imported car market), came a host of better, more interesting cars from Detroit. The success of the Corvette and the sports-type Corvair Monza led the other GM divisions to build similar cars, particularly in the B-O-P compact lines. Buick and Oldsmobile leaned toward the concept of “Little Thunderbirds,” cars with bucket seats and floor-mounted shift levers, but little else of a sporting nature. Pontiac, God love ‘em, went the hairy-chested route and came up with our test car, the best American car we have ever driven, and probably one of the five or six best cars in the world for the enthusiast driver.

Obviously, personal preferences must come into play here. There are many of our readers who think that a Sprite is the absolute epitome of grand touring, while others feel that no car should have a displacement greater than 1500cc. Add to these the purist who wouldn’t drive an American car if his life depended on it, and you have a pretty fair-sized body of opposition. We respect their differing opinions and will defend to the death their right to express them, but we will stand or fall on our enthusiasm for the Tempest GTO.

In 1963 we were a bit stunned by a Mercury Marauder that had 427 cubic inches, 425 horsepower, good handling, and performance that to us, was absolutely breathtaking. The Tempest GTO is better. First of all, its smaller outside dimensions make it a lot more fun to drive; and, second, it goes faster.

Our test car was equipped with the 389- cubic-inch, 349 horsepower, V-8 engine with hydraulic valve lifters and a compression ratio of 10.4 to one. It had the new GM “Muncie” four-speed transmission and Pontiac’s Saf-T-Trak limited-slip differential. The rear axle ratio was 3.90 to one, and the brakes had metallic linings. The car had standard Tempest GTO suspension (slightly stiffer valving in the shocks) and manual steering with an overall ratio of 20 to 1, substantially faster than the standard manual steering ratio of 26 to 1, but slower than the power steering’s 17 to 1. We preferred the power steering-not because the manual set-up was too stiff, but because it still wasn’t quite fast enough.

A word of caution here: Pontiac is forced by the realities of commerce to build cars for little old ladies and GM executives as well as enthusiasts. It is quite possible to go to your dealer’s for a demonstration drive and find yourself in a GTO of infinite dullness-an automatic-transmission-, power-operated-seat-, tinted-window-car with little to distinguish it from a Chevelle, a Buick Special, an Olds F85, or any other semi-visible American car. The GTO that delights the executive from the Fourteenth floor of the Detroit’s General Motors Building is not going to be the rabid enthusiast’s dish of tea. To buy a car like our test car you should either get a hold of a catalogue and memorize the options you want, or seek out a live-wire dealership like Royal Pontiac in Royal Oak, Michigan, the firm that loaned us our GTO.

If you are interested in hiring a business virtual assistant, first of all, congratulations, your life is about to change for the better. Secondly, here is my experience and how I did it, hopefully this will help you.

The best paid to click

Having a business virtual assistant (VA) has taken so much of a load off my shoulders, I can’t tell you how great the whole thing has been. I assume you already anticipate that, or you wouldn’t be reading this article, but the reason I bring it up is because I learned about virtual assistants last summer, and I made mistake number one: I didn’t jump on it. Why? I guess because I’m just a glutton for punishment and wanted to continue starting each day with more tasks than I could possibly do, and end it in frustration. Because that’s where I was at.

But once I got smart and realized I needed a VA here’s what I did:

1. Google. I searched for the term “virtual assistant” and looked through the various sites. I gathered information, asked people to contact me back, and generally researched the whole thing.

2. After discovering that there are two basic ways to go: through a service or direct to an independent, I decided I wanted to work directly with my own personal VA, so that’s the direction I continued in. The services are more expensive (between $10-15 per hour vs $3-4 per hour) and I just didn’t want to work with a committee. I just wanted one person, the right person, who would get to know me and work with me and be just like any other employee that I have locally.

3. I made a list. I listed everything I wanted my VA to do. For example, I wanted them to be able to work on my blog, so an understanding of HTML and wordpress went on my list. I wanted somebody that could help me distribute content and videos, and monitor my analytics etc.

4. I went to elance.com and posted my job. Elance has tons of VA’s in the system, and I was even able to be proactive and research good VA’s and invite them to bid on my job.

5. The bidding process. I was surprised how many people responded to my description, and I immediately had several qualified people bidding on the job. The two things that made the most difference in my final decision were how good their feedback was from other clients, and secondly how aggressively they were about getting my business. In the end, Prabhu really impressed me when he researched me online, found my phone number, and called me directly to introduce himself. He ended up with the job.

It has worked out just as I hoped it would, with Prabhu doing tons of important, but time consuming work for me every day. He has a great attitude, loves to work, and has great skills. He is currently doing projects that I didn’t even think of when we started, like posting advertisements, helping with my social marketing and groups, even checking my e-mail!

And he’s proactive in making my life easier. I asked Prabhu to help with this article, and here are his comments, in his own words:

“My name is Prabhu from India. I am working Virtual Assistant (VA) for Dave Sherwin. He is running a internet marketing firm, he does not have enough time to do everything that is the reason he hired me. Working with Dave is a joy and pleasure. Everyday Dave sent me list of tasks which is have with complete instructions. I finished the tasks and send him updates daily. I am very much pleased to work with him and looking forward to work with long term.”

Advertise

Prabhu is college educated, smart, and efficient. You can probably tell form his writing that he speaks English as a second language, but we have had no communication problems. All tasks are detailed out in a Google doc that we share, which he up-dates daily, including his hours per day.

And did you catch the part about working with me being a “joy and pleasure?” I bet none of my other employees think that. I can’t wait for my wife to read it. But the fact is Prabhu and I work very well together, I don’t know how I got by without him. I highly recommend you start the process right now, and find your own VA.

How to Be Always Be In Sales Mode and Make a Huge Profit Daily

Grabbing Visitors to Your Site

There are so many people out there nowadays claiming to be sales guru’s. It seems like every where I look I see some self proclaimed “sales master” telling me I can become a millionaire if I just read his “free” report! These guys crack me up. The sad part about it is that they’re still around because people fall for their cunning sales pages and buy their products. What actually qualifies you to be a sales “expert” worthy of selling your secrets to someone anyway?

Visit Submit Article for a Live Example

Have you ever done hard core, 100% commission, door to door sales in 115 degree weather (or -20 degrees for that matter) wearing a 3 piece suit? Have you ever built a power house team of cold contacting sales experts from scratch, selling pizza coupons door to door none the less? Let me guess.. “NO!” . . . to that one as well.

I would love to do an experiment one day and take one of these “sales gurus” let him pick the time, place and product, then put me on one side of the street and him on the other and lets see what happens. No need to wait for the results, I’ll can tell you right now what will happen, I will BLOW them away! That is a fact. I’m not trying to be cocky or arrogant here I ‘m simply stressing a point. I ‘m an accomplished professional, hard core sales expert and I ‘m available to prove it any day of the week.

I believe what sets me apart from the rest of these clowns is my attitude. I am always in sales mode, I am relentless in my pursuit of buyers. That is the key. I don’t just find the closest human being with a pulse and try to cram my product down their throat whether they need it or not. Instead, I bust my hump and move from person to person until I identify my buyer.

Here’s the best part… when I do find a buyer, I’ve struck gold! This is because I’m not just going to sell him one item. I’m going to sell him (or her) everything I can! Thats the difference between me and them. I smarten up, I open the market up! I don’t try to turn a “NO” into a “YES” because that will only turn around to bite me in the ass later. Instead, I quickly identify buying and non-buying signs to determine whether or not this prospect is worthy of my sales pitch.

Here’s 3 simple things you can do to increase your sales regardless of what you sell or where you sell, Internet, face to face, telemarketing, whatever… It doesn’t matter. This stuff works everywhere and if you’re not doing it your just missing the boat!

#1 Always be in a hurry. This is called “Urgency” I’ve got no time to sit down and have a cup of coffee with you Mr. Prospect. I’ve got BUYERS to get to. So lets get this deal closed and we can both get on with our busy day.

#2 Be prepared for EVERY objection. A sale without an objection is like a bowl of cereal without the milk. Expect several objections during every presentation. Thats whats supposed to happen!!! Edify the prospect, give them your pre-rehearsed rebuttal and CLOSE the deal!

#3 Take Control! No one is going to stop you in your tracks and say “Are you a salesman?? Here’s my money I’ll take everything you’ve got!” You have to get over the fear of rejection and TELL them it’s time to pay for their product. Train your customer to say yes to you throughout your pitch with close ended questions. This way they wont hesitate to reach for their wallets when you tell them it’s time to pay.
