Livin’ La Vide Loca At Gated Communities

Published under Home by writer.

The traditional definition of a gated private community is that of an enclave with a gate, guardhouse or other electronic devices that restricts people from entering such Gardens of Eden. The need for such security measures in the earlier days was limited to celebrities, media moguls and industry barons, however now even those who are not them and just want the pleasures of life also come here to stay. The demand for such communities have gone up so much that they are now coming up all over the country.

According to statistics, more than 8 million people from the US alone have already taken up residency in these gated golf communities since 2000. This means that about 1 out of every 8 Americans are now staying at such places. Though there are many kinds of communities you will come across today, those that center around an activity such as golf are the ones gaining popularity. They have become prime real estate properties because of their high asset value and amenities offered and have thus attracted the attention of some of the biggest property developers. The local Homeowner’s Association and the owners and residents are responsible for maintenance, and thus needless to say, they are very well taken care off.

Those who stay in golf gated retirement community are usually golf fanatics and they can thus relax in the secured environment and enjoy their game. There are walls or fences and the movement within is severely restricted for outsiders. To gain access, you will need to produce an electronic ID card and thus there are no embarrassing questions asked and there is no question of the members being frisked. Since they offer such high standards of living and security too, these communities naturally come at a price.

But contrary to popular belief, gated golf communities today attract not only the very rich but also the retirees, newly married couples and even families with young children who come here just to relax or engage themselves in some of the activities. Usually you will find a golf course close to a gated golf community and the homes are extremely luxurious too – the presence of well maintained roads, community areas such as parks, manicured lawns and postal facilities make them great places.

There are many who do not like to play golf, but for them as well, a gated private community has much to offer. For you there’s horse riding, tennis, swimming, fishing and billiards from which you can take your pick. But there’s always this option of just sitting back and relaxing amid the peace and the greenery and doing absolutely nothing.
