Copy Data From Old Computer To New Computer

Published under Computers by writer.

We do see each month new hardware and computer’s components being released on the market. Many persons find it interesting to get a new computer, while getting rid of their old one. But a thing that many PC users don’t like and will refrain them from buying a new PC is the fact they will have to copy all those old files (and settings) to the new PC. This is an annoying and tedious task as it is needed to transfer files and folders, user preferences and applications to the new computer. If done manually, this process could take days, which would be painful for any computer user.

A solution that is very easy the moment you have to copy files from the old to any new computer is to simply use a specialized program that will copy all those files for you. A reputed application (PCMover) was created by Laplink for such purposes. You can use such program with any type of computer with a Windows based computer system. You can also switch between various OS too. PCMover creates specific backup-type image files which can be moved physically via CD/DVD or USB flash drive, enabling fast and efficient file transfer. When moving to a new computer, migrating applications and user preferences is always hard. Learn more about Copy Files From Old Computer To New Computer here.

While the above program does cost money it is very simple and easy to use. Be aware that this is the only program that can transfer your applications from a PC to another one. If you don’t have lots of data to transfer, or you don’t want to move over any programs, you can use this free software from Microsoft: Easy Transfer Wizard. This is a simple enough program that transfers over user files, personal settings and general things like pictures and documents. Learn more on this XP To Vista Data Transfer page.
