Why are so many more people today choosing glass splashbacks for kitchens, and glass worktops? Surely glass is fragile, delicate and a potential risk? With all of the other materials currently available for use in kitchens, such as tiles, granite, quartz, steel and wood veneer, why would anyone choose glass splashbacks?
When buying a product that you can use for maintenance cleaning of sink, always check the label. Make sure to choose only cleaners that are labeled “suitable for stainless steel” to make sure that it won’t cause any damage on the surface. It is important to look into the cleaning products more closely. Most of them contain chloride that is harsh on stainless steel sink. However, this is a water-soluble substance that makes it rather easy to deal with, provided that you thoroughly rinse the sink after your routine cleaning.
Most importantly stainless steel kitchen counter tops won’t rust, fade, chip, or stain. They are not only durable, but heat-proof, completely water-proof, and resistant to gouging and denting. Also, a stainless steel countertop is easily serviceable in case deep scratches or dents that are major occur.
Stainless-steel countertops are a good choice for budget conscious consumers. The per square foot cost of counters is almost 50% less than granite. The price can vary based on the extra features ordered or texturing and welding. The thickness of the material will also affect the price however the same look can be achieved with very thin material.
But the third disadvantage of tiles for splashbacks is their cleanliness and hygiene. Whilst it is certainly true that tiles can be wiped clean fairly easily, the same isn’t always true for the grouting between the tiles. This is usually a porous material, and may well be uneven, especially near the tops, bottoms and edges of tiles. The result is that even a small imperfection can easily harbour millions of germs and bacteria, and if the grouting isn’t good then bacteria will almost certainly be lurking just inches from your family’s food.
