Full Face Helmet - Motorcycles Are Cheaper In The Long Run

Motorcycles never have been known for their safety. Any vehicle has its risks though. Often times the operators of cars are not watchful enough of the cycle riders. Both the motorcyclist and the car driver need to watch for each other. The cycle rider should keep their lights on rain or shine and remember always to wear their helmets just to be careful.

Any rider should want to be safe when enjoying their cycle. By donning your full-face helmet along with your boots, gloves, jacket and pants made of leather you will be safeguarding yourself against at least some injury. The full-face helmet is probably the most important safety feature listed here. There is nothing worse than to suffer a serious head injury and any way you can protect your head and brain from injury it is worth it. The name for the pants and jacket part of the outfit is usually called by the term “leathers”.

Cycles and cars have a certain presence that is appealing but in ways not similar to each other. Depending on which color and style you choose in the brand you like a car can be either big and clunky looking or small and sexy looking. With cycles it can be similar with the exception that bikes also show the whole body of the rider and cars do not.

The full body of the rider is totally seen when on motorcycles. With everyone decked out in helmets and special clothing male and female alike notice not only the rider but the cycle too. The lady riders do tend to get a bit more attention when riding. I wonder why? The ladies are also respected for learning how to operate a cycle efficiently.

The way cars use gas should be a crime sometimes. Certain models just plain use too much gas. Better mileage is happening more these days but still not what it should be. And with gas prices at all times high prices this has become a major problems for some people.

But with cycles it is something different. You may have to stop and get gas more often but only due to smaller gas tanks that only hold about 12 gallons. Because the bikes are not as hefty weight as most cars are this causes them not to burn as much gas trying to move them on the road. The extra weight of the rider on the bike really makes very little difference as to how the cycle performs gas wise. The mileage that is attained with a tank of gas is much more satisfactory on a cycle compared to a car.

The biggest thing that cars and cycles don’t have in common is price. The cost of cars is much higher than cycles. Even you buy a clunker in a car for a few hundred dollars chances are you are going to have to put thousands into it to get it fixed. Even the price of a new air conditioning unit for the car could be what a motorcycle would cost. With even cars that are brand spanking new you may have to do work on them. There are those emissions tests, brakes that need to be replaced, and front end alignments that cost a pretty penny. Heck did you know that a car loses almost one third of its value just coming off the lot. You can afford all your gear along with your helmet plus for the cycle for less than the money used for fixing the car.

A cycle is just plain cheaper than a car even with the expense of all the gear and add ons. For about $300 you can get a cycle that has been ridden before. Put that cost together with the fantastically good gas mileage and your wallet will be so grateful.

Womens Motorcycle Helmets - Stylish and Safe

Published under Automobile by Amanda Beaty. No Comments .

Motorcycle helmets designed for women are more fashion-oriented that those for men. For example, pink and purple are colors usually found in women’s motorcycle helmets but would almost never be seen in a man’s helmet. All in all, a woman’s motorcycle helmet gives out a “fashion statement” more than the simple styles found in helmets for men.

A word of caution should be mentioned here - safety and not looks should be the most important consideration in purchasing women’s motorcycle helmets. An expert said that exuding sex appeal is often a factor in designing a woman’s motorcycle helmet from the manufacturer’s point of view; however, that should be a minor factor when one is a consumer looking to purchase a helmet for women.

Women’s motorcycle helmets are easily distinguished from a man’s helmet. Women’s helmets are often smaller. As well, colors and the design are geared toward one gender or another.

The number of women riders has greatly risen over the last 30 years, which means the women’s helmets are available in a large number of styles. Any woman shopping for a helmet has no worry about sacrificing style or safety for a helmet - today’s helmets have both. For example, Icon Racing carries a helmet called “Hooligan Gloss Helmet” which is both safe and has a slick style. Although the name does not hint to its femininity, this women’s motorcycle helmet has a shape that is distinctly female and is available in a pink-purple color, which is unmistakably feminine. It is also equipped with a fully supply of safety features, meeting standards of both Department of Transportation (D.O.T) and Snell. It is composed of a fiberglass shell with dual-density styrene for a liner, which is known to minimize the risk of trauma in head injuries. This helmet is both beautiful and function and an excellent example of a women’s motorcycle helmet.

Because riding motorcycles is still perceived to be primarily a man’s activity, men tend to be more experienced and knowledgeable than women in purchasing helmets. Before shopping for women’s motorcycle helmets, a first-time buyer should learn about the wide variety of women’s helmets that are in the market. She should get a basic knowledge of DOT and Snell safety standards for helmets. She should understand the importance of proper fit as a factor in determining the level of protection a helmet can provide. She should also be knowledgeable about the trade-offs in a woman’s motorcycle helmet - those pertaining to safety, comfort, heat-flow, ventilation and other factors in rider’s comfort. Since the female face is generally more delicate than a man’s, women tend to buy helmets that maximize facial protection.

Motorcycle Helmets - Why Do People Ride

Published under Automobile by Amanda Beaty. No Comments .

There are various explanations as to why some many people enjoy riding motorcycles. To contradict the fable that most motorcycle riders are dangerous reports show that many more are very safety conscious than reckless and remember to wear their motorcycle helmets. Many sectors of the population have fun using their motorcycles. Men, women and young people all operate motorcycles on the streets today.

You are behind the times if you think everyone that rides motorcycle looks and acts like a thug. Motorcycles are even used by people to go to work at their offices these days. Since motorcycles are more economical than cars on gas many people leave their cars at home. More and more people may actually be using motorcycles if the price of gas keeps going up. Motorcycles are also used for recreation not just for getting to work.

Pleasure is most often the reason an individual may choose to ride a motorcycle. Motorcycle riders like to feel like one with the environment and they do because of being so open in a motorcycle. They whiz through their journey feeling the air around them. Some riders prefer the open face motorcycle helmets for an added sense of freedom on the face area.

Many women get babysitters for the children and take to the road riding. This gives them badly needed time away for themselves. They can ride and feel free for a while therefore relaxing. Since often times these women have children and families depending on them they know to wear their motorcycle helmets when they ride and practice other safety too.

What about motorcycle helmets? Helmets come in several different models. Some of the models are full-face and some are open face but there are others too. Some are designed for men and some are designed with women in mind. These are also sized accordingly especially when it concerns the youth helmets. Better safety with helmets that fit correctly.

Motorcycles are very convenient to use as far as being able to park them. It is often times hard for the car drivers to notice the motorcycle riders. At low speeds bikes are easy to control, but the control leaves at high speeds. Motorcycles do have a performance record but this does not remove the need for the user to perfect but their handling skills.

The prices of motorcycles are so much lower than the prices of cars. They do have their down side though, you can’t very well ride in bad weather. You have to tune and fiddle with motorcycles more often than with cars so the expense can increase the longer you have the bike. The right helmet and outfit to protect the biker should be worn.

What is the purpose of leather on a biker’s outfit? It makes the outfit extremely waterproof. In an accident leather will not tear up as quick so it just may protect the rider from injury. There are some other materials that the biker clothes are being made from these days too like Kevlar. Some choose to wear this fabric instead of leather.

Make sure you understand how to take care of your motorcycle; it does take a certain amount of work to take your motorcycle especially an old one. Wear the proper helmet and clothing when riding. Learn to be a skilled motorcycle rider. Most of all enjoy your motorcycle riding experience. The more you know about how to take care and handle your motorcycle the more you are able to enjoy using it.

Classic Open Face Helmet - The Amazing Advantages

“Never leave home without it” as the bikers always say when it comes to helmets. No other protective headgear is as popular to motorcyclists as the reliable helmet whether it is a full face, a classic open face helmet, a half helmet, or even an open face retro DOT helmet. A helmet lives for one major purpose: motorcycle safety in terms of protecting the biker’s head in case of an accident. In addition, the helmet also provides ear protection, eye and nose protection, and even proper ventilation and protection from the elements.

Why should we use a helmet in the first place? A helmet will certainly reduce injuries during accidents if it cannot prevent them entirely. Most of the fatal accidents can be easily avoided if the motorcyclists protect themselves particularly in the face or head area. During accidents, the impacts or skull injuries may cause injuries to the brain and result in death. Many people are not aware of the fact that a classic open face helmet can give better protection than the full-face helmet and save a life from death in a crash. The reminiscent rider may prefer an open face retro Dot helmet, which is made to safety standards. It is stylish and gives protection as well. However, Snell or DOT standards consider that a classic open face helmet is much better for the biker.

The purpose of a classic open faced helmet is to protect as it covers the skull’s base and back. When compared to a full-face, the classic is more limited without the chin armor protection. Even an open face helmet that comes with a face shield or visor, is somewhat at a disadvantage. It offers limited or non-existent protection from the natural elements such as wind, dust, insects, and other stray foreign objects that might be bouncing or flying about. Some riders choose to implement additional safety options with their classic open face helmets including goggles, sunglasses, or nose and mouth guards.

There are riders, however, who prefer the classic open face helmet over other types as this offers protection without the constricting feeling of the full-face helmet and the inadequate feeling of a shorty. The open face helmet is comfortable and airy enough and can be fastened securely to guarantee protection, unlike a shorty which can easily shift or come undone in an accident. Even an open face retro DOT helmet can do the job, notwithstanding the retro colors and styles, as long as the DOT standard is adhered to.

Riding down the open road with the wind draping the body’s every curve on a sports motorcycle or a cruiser is part of the reward motorcyclists seek when they hop onto their bikes. Doesn’t that sound relaxing? Without the feel of the wind on the face, some say the feeling of riding a motorcycle disappears. Those who share that opinion, opt for the classic open face helmet and they don’t lose the rush of the wind on their face. After all, riding motorcycles as they say, should be an exhilarating and free-flowing experience!

Wrinkles - What To Do About Them

Who does not want skin without wrinkles as they get older? I know that I want as smooth of skin as possible. To get smoother skin you need to know what makes it wrinkle in the first place. This article will discuss reasons that this aging problem occurs. Also we will look at some prevention and treatments also.

The epidermis or top layer of skin becomes less dense with age. This occurs when the epidermal cells lose their ability to bond. This also causes the skin to retain less moisture. Production of these cells also slows down making it harder for the skin to repair itself. One of the many things that happen because of this is wrinkles. The epidermal is not the only layer that affects this though the dermal layer can also age.

Products are on the market in cream form to treat wrinkles. I know there are creams that correct the problem, there are also creams that are for increasing the tightness of the skin. Face lift creams are available for an instant effect too. Creams for maximum moisturizing for the dryness are readily available too these days. I would use one of these creams to combat this problem before considering a medical alternative for this.

There are plenty of over the counter solutions for wrinkles today. You can buy a cream to help erase them, or one to make the skin more firm, and there is actually creams that say they are for a face lift. Moisturizers are quite effective these days too with all the maximum strength ones out there. Consider applying one of the creams in place of more drastic solutions as performed by medical professionals.

You can go to a professional and get shots of botulinum toxin A this sometimes helps eliminate wrinkles at least temporarily. I shudder at the thought of needles though so I would probably not choose this for myself. You can get acid peels with glycolic acid if you that appeals to you. This can leave the face smooth after it heals from the peel. Whatever choice you make read material on it to make up your mind. The doctor and or location you choose should be researched on their credentials too.

When you are going to be outside please be sure to use sunscreen. SPF 30 or above in a sunscreen protects you the most when you are doing leisure or work activities outdoors. One application of sunscreen a day is not enough protection though you need to apply again in 30 minutes for maximum protection. You can purchase moisturizers, creams, and makeup that contain SPF protection too. Manufacturers have made it convenient to have SPF coverage all during the day now.

Being outside especially in warmer weather can be hard on the skin. You need to protect yourself with sunscreen of an SPF of 30 or higher. Liberally apply sunscreen before enjoying the outdoors for sunbathing and other activities. You also need to apply it again during the day like every thirty minutes. Makeup and creams have a certain amount of SPF protection in them today also. You can protect yourself all day long with the products that are on the market these days. On the nutritional side drinking your water everyday will help your skin so much. Since wrinkles can happen because of dry skin then drinking your 6 to 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day can help. This helps from the inside to moisturize your skin. I hope the ideas in this article will help give you very smooth skin.

Wrinkles - Don’t Worry There Are Many Solutions

The older we get it seems like the older our skin looks. More wrinkles appear all the time. To practice prevention of this aging problem, we have to learn how to keep this from happening. So let’s study why this condition can happen when we age. I will also talk about some treatments for this condition.

The top layer of skin ages and decreases in thickness. With this thinning of the top layer (called the epidermal layer) the skins cells in the layer are not as adhesive which helps the skin retain less moisture. These cells do not reproduce as easily when we get older which causes the skin not to heal as easily. Wrinkles result as the epidermal layer ages but this is not the only reason. The dermal layer of the skin also needs to be discussed.

The dermal layer decreases in thickness also. It has less collagen because of less being produced and the skin becomes less elastic. Lines and other conditions happen when this occurs in the dermal layer. The skin also dries because of less sebum being made in the sebaceous glands. We also have fewer sweat glands as we age which can cause dryness too.

Products are on the market in cream form to treat wrinkles. I know there are creams that correct the problem, there are also creams that are for increasing the tightness of the skin. Facelift creams are available for an instant effect too. Creams for maximum moisturizing for the dryness are readily available too these days. I would use one of these creams to combat this problem before considering a medical alternative for this.

You can go to a professional and get shots of botulinum toxin A this sometimes helps eliminate wrinkles at least temporarily. This can leave the face smooth after it heals from the peel. Whatever choice you make read material on it to make up your mind. The doctor and or location you choose should be researched on their credentials too.

Be sure to drink your water every day. Six to eight glasses of water. Since the skin getting drier promotes wrinkles you need to nourish your skin with natural moisture of within. I hope that I have given you some good ideas to help keep the your skin healthy. Have a happy healthy and hopefully wrinkle free life.

Wrinkles - Laugh Lines Are No Laughing Matter

Published under Health by Amanda Beaty. No Comments .

A smooth skin definitely looks very attractive, but wrinkles in the form of laugh lines or other folds don’t make you look great. The folds and furrows that form around eyes at the time of laughing or smiling, tend to become permanent and more noticeable with growing age. The task to keep your skin free from these wrinkles is not easy, unless one is able to remain away from sun light and could avoid weight gain, all sources of pollution, and comedy shows too. Notwithstanding all the age-induced problems, it is still possible to combat them by observing many easy to follow measures in one’s life.

The lines that appear on the face, neck, and other exposed areas tend to be the most concerning. However, wrinkles show up all over the body and the annual arrival of summer and the unavoidable excursion to buy a new swimsuit seem to throw a spotlight on our hidden flaws. To help your skin look its best two simple suggestions that anyone can follow are: avoid yo-yo dieting and always apply sunscreen.

As we get older, skin does not remain as elastic as when we were young. The entire structure under our skin begins to deteriorate. After being stretched out after laughing or frowning, it doesn’t bounce back like it used to. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing that can be done about wrinkles.

If you know someone who is a fervent sun worshiper or you are yourself, you know what effect this can have on the skin. Wrinkles will appear more prominently on these sun worshipers, smokers and people who have gained a lost weight at a fast rate.

Keeping the skin nourished and taken care of is a basic necessity. A good diet with all the proper nutritional areas addressed is one of the best ways to keep wrinkles at bay. Without the right amount of vitamin C, linoleic acid and omega fatty acids, your skin will age faster than normal and you will see a lot of wrinkles. A lot of fats and carbohydrates should also be avoided if you want to preserve the appearance of your skin.

No matter how careful you are, sweat, dirt and pollution will get into your pores. Be careful in your selection of facial cleansers to fit your unique skin type. Any facial cleanser with fantastic claims of making you look younger will only damage your face if it is not what you need and may even increase the wrinkles on your face.

Also, carefully study all the ingredients of a skin product before you decide to apply them, particularly on the sensitive skin areas like face. People allergic to certain substances should never use the product that contains any of those ingredients. Some products have long, difficult-to-understand pharmaceutical names; in such cases make a prior study of them through online research so that in the efforts of fighting against wrinkles you don’t embrace harmful diseases later. However, now-a-days there is increasing preference for natural and organic skin products that provide gentler touch. With lot many reputed manufactures coming into this field, there is no dearth of possibilities on offer.

You might not realize that the best way to fight wrinkles is to just use common sense. Even if you have bad skin or fair skin that burns in the sun, spending time reading the ingredient list on the products you use or wearing a wide brim hat when out in the sun will help greatly in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and keep you looking good.

The human body’s largest organ is, in fact, its skin. This marvelous flesh keeps us cool, warms us and protects from everything from bacteria to dehydration. The first life of defense, this durable and self repairing cover protects us, but what are we doing to protect it? Here are a few simple ways you can help your skin, help you.

Serious skin care should be a daily exercise. When it comes to your face, avoid deodorant soaps, which have a tendency to cause dryness, flaking and even cracking. Using products designed for your skin type is a smart move. Using products that are specifically designed for daily use is a good thing to keep in mind. Beware of scrubs and certain care products that contain Salicylic Acid, for when used in combinations with some products it too, may cause drying and even irritation.

If you are using a care product for that contains alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) keep in mind that this product can in fact make your skin more sensitive. There are studies that link this product to a greater sunburn risk. Some products that contain AHA now carry a warning on the label. It doesn’t hurt to check though.

We all know that we should limit our time in the sun. Whatever brand of sunblock you choose to buy for serious skin care, it is recommended it be at least SPF30 and that is blocks both UVA and UVB rays and remember to reapply after sweating or swimming. You can even get a sunburn while skiing the snowy slopes.

Don’t forget to protect your lips either. Women using shiny glosses for that summer shimmer can be endangering their skin more. You needn’t give up that summer favorite, just put a layer of lip balm or gloss which has sunscreen in it.

Areas that get the most exposure, your head and arms and shoulders, should be protected too. Your serious skin care regime can and should include what you wear. Before you go out into the sun, try wearing a light weight shirt that will cover and protect your arms and shoulders. Even wearing a hat is a good idea. This will protect not only your head, but, your face and ears.

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! Serious skin care works from the inside out, our bodies skin, will show dehydration first. Hydrating lotions on the skin are important. Hydrating on the inside is just as important.

Remember this is the skin you have for life! A few simple but serious skin care practices can help you take care of it. Take care of the skin that takes care of you and have fun!
