The Benefits Of Operating a Franchise Business

Published under Business by Felicitas Tan. No Comments .

Are you eager to satisfy your entrepreneurial spirit? You may be considering setting up a business and becoming your own boss. One business opportunity worthy of your attention may be the responsibility of operating one outlet in a franchise chain.

There are a lot of advantages in franchising that the single, conventional start-up company doesn’t share. But you need to weigh up the benefits against the difficulties you’ll probably encounter along the way in operating this kind of business.

Considering franchise opportunities may be right for one individual but not for another. You are not always in control of the decisions that are required, so if this thought does not sit well with you then maybe pursuing this type of business may not be an option. It is very important to consider all types of franchises and review their policies and philosophies too.

In addition, there are many benefits to owning a franchise like operating under a brand name or logo of a trusted and well-known product or service. Normally you would need to log in many work hours to initially get the business started but in this case it would not be as bad because the franchiser is there to assist you too. The franchiser will want you to succeed so they will not make you start this new business from scratch. They will guide you and provide you with what is required to get the business up and running quickly.

Another boon is the fact that the franchiser will probably have a basic business plan already in place. It may be generic and not everything will apply to you, but there could be details that you would have otherwise overlooked.

Advertising and the costs associated with it is another aspect of your franchise that you will not have to worry about. The radio jingles or other advertising spots will not cause you to have sleepless nights.

Where to source your goods and dealing with merchandising and packaging concerns is the responsibility of the franchiser. In addition, he or she will be there to assist you to train your staff and show them how to be effective with the customers. If at any time you decide to sell your franchise the franchiser will help you with that also.

The franchiser will also be familiar with health and safety regulations and other laws in the area. Compliance with the law is essential with any business, and if the law is overlooked it could result in hefty fines or worse. Franchisers will be eager to ensure your business is fully authorized to operate, as it should.

So you’ll have many advantages over any rival businesses just starting out. The great thing is you’re buying into a reputation that you haven’t yet earned, and hard work and effort will pay great dividends.

As asthma sufferers, among the most important thing that you can do in order to limit your exposure to triggers is to just eliminate them altogether. The HEPA filtration system that occupies most carpet cleaners that are of a high quality has the ability to remove any triggers of asthma such as pet dander, dust mites and pollen. It is also capable of keeping everything extremely clean. The Wind Tunnel Ultra that is self-propelled that is put out by Hoover is always up to the task.

The upright Wind Tunnel has many features and is very easy to operate. It is seen as a larger vacuum that is self-propelled which is a good benefit. With a self-propelled vacuum cleaner all you do is let the vacuum navigate around on the floor and it will pick up all dust and dirt as it moves.

So that you do not do a rush vacuum job the Hoover Wind Tunnel has an embedded dirt finder and reminds you when to slow down in heavier traffic areas. This is a super feature especially for those people who think the area is clean after doing a quick vacuum.

As with other vacuum cleaners, the Wind Tunnel Ultra has attachments as an added feature. When using any of the attachments you must lock down the handle on the vacuum so that it looks like it is in the upright position. Then the brushes on the dual agitator are run completely off.

There is a high quality and flexible attachment hose that comes with the vacuum. You are not required to do anything with the hose but plug it into the vacuum and start cleaning. Two extension wands, brushes, crevice tool and upholstery nozzle are just a few of the other attachments that come with the vacuum cleaner.

The Hoover Wind Tunnel works great on carpets and hard floors. The setting for hard wood floors turn off all the agitator brushes so that they don’t blow any dirt back at you while you are vacuuming.

This vacuum also offers a lot of power when it comes to hard wood floors because it will pick up just about anything. Vacuuming carpets and rugs can be done in just a snap.

Cleaning is easy with this vacuum because of the high level of power and the embedded dirt finder the vacuum has. With an edge cleaner that is built in, you surely have a really nice carpet cleaner.

Praying Hands, Praying Hearts

Published under Society by Felicitas Tan. No Comments .

by Babes Tan-Magkalas

Praying with clasped or folded hands is quite common among Christians. Is there a meaning to this prayer gesture? Yes there is. Apparently, such a prayer posture is a symbol of obedience, sincerity, submission and repentance. Some raise their folded hands when they make a plea to God to answer their prayers.

Natahn Ausubel, in his book “Book of Jewish Knowledge said that this prayer gesture is not exclusive to Christians alone. He said the Jews even before the time of Jesus Christ, practiced it: “It has also been commonly assumed that folding the hands in prayer is exclusively a Christian custom. This is not the historical fact at all. As early as the post-Exilic period, when Jews prayed, they folded their hands, and they observed this custom for several centuries even after it had been adopted by Christians.”

Jesus, being a Jew, also prayed with clasped hands. You must have seen pictures or images of Him in the garden of Gethsemani in this prayer gesture. In other art works, you can also see the Virgin Mary and angels with their hands clasped as well.

Not only do Jews and Christians practice it but also the Hindus and Buddhists. The latter draw their palms together to show respect, to venerate their deities and to greet one another. This posture is termed the “anjali mudra”, anjali meaning offering and mudra, seal. Particularly in India, the word “Namaste” is said while doing this posture as a way of saying something like a sacred hello since the word “Namaste” is translated as “I bow to the divinity within you from the divinity within me.”

Pope Benedict XVI in his book “Spirit of the Liturgy” said that the body is an integral part of the act of worship and I quote: “The body has a place within the divine worship of the Word made flesh, and it is expressed liturgically in a certain discipline of the body, in gestures that have developed out of the liturgy’s inner demands…” So the body certainly has a place, along with the heart, mind and soul, in prayer.

The Pope further went on to say that during the feudal times, those who swore their allegiance to a ruling lord would place their joined hands into the hands of their lord as a sign of their fidelity and obedience. In a similar vein, we place our hands in the hands of our Lord when we pray with our joined hands and pledge our fidelity and obedience to Him.

Is there a benefit to doing this prayer gesture? In yogic practice, drawing one’s hands together is believed to bring the left and right hemispheres of one’s brain together. Such a gesture is said to calm the mind.

If you ask me, I am able to pray better with my hands clasped or folded because I can focus on God more. My concentration is much better and I am sure many people would agree with me. When I kneel, I do it out of reverence to God and it is the same when I pray with my hands drawn together. God is certainly pleased with praying hands and praying hearts.

Which as Seen on TV Fitness Equipment Actually Works

Published under Health by Felicitas Tan. No Comments .

There are so many different pieces of fitness equipment that are advertised on television nowadays. It is really hard to tell which pieces of equipment will actually work and which ones are just going to lie in your closet unused. It is important that if you are going to buy a piece of exercise equipment off of the television that you have some basic knowledge about what you should be looking for.

One of the indicators you can use to figure out if the machine is a good buy is if the equipment has been on the market for a long while. Also, if the company selling the machine has been in business for a lengthy period of time too then you can feel comfortable about the people being happy with their purchase. Those companies that get many complaints about their products are usually not in business for long.

One major problem that you may encounter when purchasing fitness equipment off of the television is trying to get your money back. Many companies won’t take back your items because they feel that you may have done the damage yourself. However, a lot of damage can be caused when the equipment is in transit. Therefore, you will want to choose a company that will allow you to return the equipment within a certain time period with no questions asked.

There are some types of fitness equipment advertised on the television that do not perform the way the company had marketed them. The fitness equipment may not support your weight and the quality of the construction of the machine could be considered flimsy. A poorly constructed machine will definitely cause you injury. Call the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint if you ever run into this situation. A company will be closed if they get too many complaints filed against them.

When you are considering buying a piece of fitness equipment off the television make sure that it is something that will allow you to achieve your fitness goals. If you don’t know for sure what your fitness goals are then don’t purchase the product because you probably won’t end up using it.

Something else to consider is to get a piece of equipment that gives your whole body a workout. For what you will be paying, it would be unfortunate if the machine only worked one specific area of your body.

Did you know that most of the fitness equipment advertised on television could also be bought in a store? This would be a great opportunity for you to go to an exercise equipment facility and try out one or more of their machines. You will also be able to speak with a sales associate who could answer any of the questions that you might have. Also, it might just be your lucky day, especially if the machine was on sale or they included a free warranty with whatever piece of fitness equipment that you desired.

Most people’s primary goal is to lose weight so be sure that the piece of equipment you are considering to buy will accomplish that objective. As the saying goes buyer beware!

Installing Your Blinds

Published under Home by Felicitas Tan. No Comments .

Okay, you need blinds for your windows, but you have never purchased or installed blinds before. This should not be a problem, as long as you can read a tape measure and use a hammer and screwdriver.

Installing blinds is pretty simple and straightforward, without any complicated steps involved. It does not matter whether you are male or female, or what age you is.

The first step, even before making a purchase, is to take measurements of the window where the blinds will be installed. You will require these measurements for the proper fit when it comes to the height and width of the blind. If your calculations are incorrect, you could end up with a blind that is either too wide or too long. Once you have all of your measurements, then it is time to purchase your brand new blinds.

After you have them and bring them home, it is time to start the installation process.

You will need a pencil so that you can mark the placement of the brackets for the blinds. By holding your blinds exactly where you want them to hang make a pencil mark on both sides to identify the position of each bracket. Now that step will help you to make sure that the brackets will be installed properly and the blinds will hang correctly. It is at this time that you should go get your hammer and screwdriver.

Take both brackets for your blinds and attach both of them to the wall where you made the marks, one bracket per mark. These usually attach with small screws, normally three or four to a bracket. If the screws do not want to go into the wall easily, simply tap them gently once or twice with the hammer to start them, and then continue with the screwdriver. Make sure to line the brackets up precisely with the marks on the wall during the installation, so that they are far enough apart to hold the blinds. It is very important that the open side of the bracket is facing the front so that the blinds can slide into it.

Once you have installed the brackets, it is time to install the blinds into the brackets. The blinds should slide easily into the open ends of the brackets, so that they are held in place. Once this is done, use the small piece and slide it into the open side of the brackets, locking the blinds in place and improving the looks of them.

Stand back and admire your handiwork. What an accomplishment to have installed your lovely new blinds all by yourself.
